There is a chill in the air, the leaves are falling and the cosy jumpers are coming out. It could only mean one thing……. its Autumn! And what better way than to celebrate this gorgeously colourful season than a trip pumpkin picking.

Both myself and Penelope went Pumpkin picking at Cattows farm this year and we would love to share our experience with you.
Cattows Farm is located in Swadlincote, it was only a 25 minute trip from the Beautiful Bundle Studio.

We had pre-booked our tickets prior, entry to the farm was only £3 each with 50p booking fee which was very reasonable. When booking you do have another selection of activities that you can add onto your visit. These include the trick or treat street. The lost fantasy world which has over 30 inflatables to play on and The Halloween Circus. Each of these are roughly £7 per person to add on. But even if you just booked your entry tickets there is still lots to see and do included with the entry fee such as an outdoor play park, a maze, a funfair with rides for all
ages and also LOTS of cool photo opportunities (which of course made me very happy). And also included is entry to the pumpkin fields to pick your own pumpkins.
As Penelope is only 3 and half we didn’t book onto every activity. But we did book the trick-or-treat street and the lost world inflatable park.
Upon entry we was greeted with some awesome Halloween displays so we obviously grabbed some photo opportunities. Then we headed to the funfair. There was a good selection of toddler rides all priced at £2.50 each so we had a good play on these before heading over to the trick or treat street.
The trick or treat street is filled with ghostly ghools and spooky decor to keep your little ones entertained. It’s geared up specifically for children so don’t worry its not too scary! You wind around streets and houses collecting candy and even cute gifts like jigsaws and play books. The actors are fantastic and really help keep in character for the children’s entertainment.

After we had lunch. We pre-packed a lunch as my daughter loves Nutella sandwiches! This helped save on cost for the day too! Although she did have a ice-cream for desert and I had a baileys hot chocolate off one of the food stalls. There is lots of food to choose from onsite such as wooden fired pizzas, burgers, your usually take away foods and a licensed bar. Along with cute sweet and treat stalls too.
After lunch we headed over to the giant inflatables. This is all under a massive big top tent. In here is inflatables for all children’s ages and a specific under 5’s area too which was perfect for us. Penelope in particular loved the giant inflatable slides.
After a good play we decided to go pumpkin picking.
The fields are full with a variety of pumpkins to pick. You can literally fill your wheel barrow to the top if you wanted too!! We opted for 8 pumpkins in total in a variety of sizes and colours. Penelope really did enjoy this part. She even managed to carry her selection to the wheelbarrow! I don’t know about your 3 years olds but she very independent. Loves doing things on her own, it’s very cute to be honest! It does make me very proud of her!
Then we walked with our wheel barrows to pay. On the way back to the pay points there are barrells filled with gorgeous pumpkins in an array of colours, shapes and sizes to add to your haul. They all looked so pretty clustered together. I just had to grab another photo opportunity!

Upon paying our selection of pumpkins was only £8.15 which is very reasonable if you ask me! We was both super chuffed with our selection.

Well that’s our visit in a nutshell, it was such a lovely day out and it certainly helped us get into the autumnal Halloween spirit. I’m sure we will be visiting again next year!
But for now it’s todaloo!!
Catch up on her again soon,
Kirsty x
